Aris, having been engaged with high caliber International Sporting Events such as the Athens 2011 Special Olympics, the Athens 2004 and the London 2012 Olympic Games in different ways/roles, has gained a deep understanding of the Events industry, and has a broad experience in the strategic planning, the organizing, and the implementation phase of Marketing operations, tools, activations and practices.
He developed his branding/communication and media expertise while been employed at LiberisPublications, the biggest publishing house in Greece, as a Brand Manager for flagship magazines. Furthermore, he managed and coordinated the first Vogue Tennis Championship and Status Tennis Championship, as well as other major events and below the line activations.
Aris joined the Marketing and Communications Department of the Special Olympics World Summer Games Athens 2011 Organizing Committee as a Senior Director in 2009, utilizing a 360 approach throughout all Marketing operations, Sponsorships, promotional events and non – sporting events, yet also lead the Look of the Games (Branding) team for all the competition and non competition venues.
Subsequently, he joined the London 2012 Organizing Committee (LOCOG) in 2011 as a LOOK (Brand) Manager for both the Olympics and Paralympics, interacting with several stakeholders to deliver a successful Branding experience at the Volleyball and Equestrian events for spectators, sponsors and other related parties.
Nonetheless, having been engaged with merely commercial companies since 2001, like the Levi Strauss & Co and Auto Malta Ltd and while managing sponsors’ events activations during the Athens 2004 Olympics, he truly understands the business side of the story and has gained a “multiple perspectives” approach.
Aris earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Piraeus as well as a Masters in Marketing from the Newcastle Business School at Newcastle, UK.
